Message: If you live in or near Houston this is the place to go for hardwoods / plywood! They are not open on the weekends, which makes it slightly annoying to goto for us hobbyists that have 9 to 5 jobs during the week, but the selection and low prices makes it worth the effort to go see them every time!

Message: I have purchased from Houston Hardwoods twice now and I am just as satisfied with them as I was the first time. I needed quite a bit of a lesser used wood. I bought about 100 board foot of 16/4 basswood. Don't let my usage of board feet etc throw you off, they are helpful to beginners or the advanced. They have lots of choices for all sorts of different projects. Small or large. The wood I needed was in the back storage area at the very bottom of the pile. Was that an issue? NO problem. I waited while they used the forklift to get my stuff. No grumpy faces or attitudes. That makes a real difference. Also, if you need your wood milled, their prices are VERY reasonable especially compared to the hardwood store in the Heights. No ridiculously high setup fees. They also have mantles in different species wood of that is what you are looking for. I was helped by Junior for my latest purchase and he took good care of me. I will continue to buy from these guys! They even asked for a photo of my finished project. They have made me a happy customer.
